Sudharsan also joined Matthew Hayden as the joint third-fastest player overall to reach 1000 IPL runs. In the 2023 IPL final, Sudharsan fell short of a century against CSK, being dismissed for 96. However, he made up for it in the recent match, scoring his maiden IPL hundred off 50 balls. He reached his fifty off 32 balls and then completed his century with a six over long leg off Simarjeet Singh’s bowling.

Partnering with Shubman Gill, who also reached his century off 50 balls, Sudharsan created significant trouble for the Super Kings. Their partnership of 210 runs for the opening wicket off 17.2 overs marked the sixth 200-plus partnership in IPL history.
