IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Set 188-Run Target For Delhi

Delhi Capitals will be looking to enter the top 4 with a win on the night but have to perform with the bat in the absence of Rishabh Pant.

RCB vs DC: Match 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) saw the Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on the Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 12. Delhi Capitals stepped onto the pitch without the services of skipper Rishabh Pant because of him serving a one-match ban. Axar Patel took over the reins for the match from his captain in a match which will have an instant impact on the playoff race as well.

RCB Post 187/9 vs DC

Put to bat first, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis started well but lost skipper Du Plessis’ important wicket in the 3rd over itself on just 6 runs. Virat also went on to lose his wicket in the powerplay courtesy of his former Delhi teammate Ishant Sharma who had a bit of a laugh after dismissing the former RCB skipper at 27 runs on the night.

It was Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks whose brilliant 88-run stand took RCB from 36/2 to 124/3 at 12.3 overs after which Patidar was sent back to the pavilion. Patidar scored a 32-ball 52 and continued his good run of form for the hosts.

Will Jacks too had to depart after scoring 41 runs in the 15th over courtesy of a Kuldeep Yadav delivery. It was Cameron Green who took over the initiative and started putting runs on the board for the Challengers.

Cameron Green’s gritty 32* powered the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a competitive 187/9 in their 20 overs.

Almost all the bowlers were successful at least once on the night with Khaleel Ahmad taking 2 on the night. Delhi Capitals will be looking to enter the top 4 with a good win on the night but have to perform with the bat in the absence of their power hitter Rishabh Pant.
