GT Restricted To 147
Put to bat first, GT openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha were taken out of the game within the powerplay at a collective total of just 3 runs courtesy of a Mohd Siraj masterclass.
Sai Sudharshan, who has been scoring some crucial runs for Gujarat lately was also sent back to the pavilion cheaply before the end of the 6th over as well. However, it was David Miller and Shahrukh Khan whose 61-run partnership put some runs on the board for the visitors.
With Shahrukh being dismissed by a fantastic run-out by Virat Kohli, it was Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan who had the responsibility to put some runs on the board to post a competitive total for the bowlers to defend in the 2nd innings.
Rashid Khan’s 18-run cameo ended soon after as it was impact substitute Vijay Shankar (10) who supported a gritty 35 from Rahul Tewatia which steered GT to 147 in their 20 overs as Gujarat tried to take revenge from their opponents this time round.
