RR vs GT: Match 24 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) witnessed an unbeaten Rajasthan Royals take on the Gujarat Titans who are looking for their 3rd win of the season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 10.
After a short spell of rain delayed the toss, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to field first considering the chance of rain around the corner.
Batting first, RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) and Jos Buttler (8) failed to make a big score in the powerplay with Yashasvi Jaiswal trying to start with a few boundaries in the beginning.
Samson-Parag Steer the RR Boat
Skipper Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag took over from the openers and guided the side through the next stage of the innings. Riyan Parag (76) continued his brilliant form in this year’s IPL as his blazing knock helped the hosts get crucial runs on the board.
Sanju Samson also supported Parag’s innings with a well-made 68* in the middle as the Royals ended up with a mammoth total of 196/3 in their 20 overs.
GT Bowlers Struggle To Dismiss RR Batters
Gujarat bowlers didn’t give off too many runs but weren’t clinical in terms of wickets as well on the night. Umesh Yadav and Rashid Khan got a scalp each but Shubman Gill would’ve surely hoped for more success with the ball against an RR side that has a good batting lineup.
