RCB Manage To Post 172/8 vs RR
Put to bat first, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis tried to give RCB a decent start in the beginning. While Du Plessis had to depart after just 17 runs, Virat Kohli kept batting through the powerplay but was dismissed after a 24-ball 33 which also made him reach an impressive milestone of 8000 runs in IPL history. He is the first batter to achieve this unique feat.
Cameron Green also had an impactful 27-run cameo in the middle as the in-form Rajat Patidar was dropped on just 5 runs by Dhruv Jurel. Rajasthan had to pay for the mistake as Patidar went on to capitalize on the same and scored a fiery 34 on the night which helped RCB post a competitive total on the night.
In the end, it was Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik who steered the Challengers to a respectable 172/8 in their 20 overs.
Spinners came to Rajasthan Royals’ rescue as both Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran took crucial wickets for their side. While Ashwin picked up 2 scalps, Chahal too got himself one wicket to his name.
