IPL 2024: Rajasthan Set 148-Run Target For Punjab Kings At Mullanpur

Vice-captain Jitesh Sharma top scored on the night with 29 runs. The home side surely missed their skipper Shikhar Dhawan who missed out on the tie due to a niggle.

Match 27 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) witnessed league leaders travel to Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on April 13. Seeking their 5th win of the season, Rajasthan posed a challenging task against Punjab Kings who haven’t had an eventful season so far.

RR Bowlers On Top

Put to bat first, Punjab Kings’ batters had a woeful start to their innings with the top order being dismantled by the Rajasthan bowlers within the powerplay. The top 4 batters including replacement skipper Sam Curran got dismissed at a collective total of just 46 with Punjab struggling at 52/4 within 10 overs.

Vice-captain Jitesh Sharma tried to stabilize the innings with 29 runs. The home side surely missed their skipper Shikhar Dhawan who missed out on the tie due to a niggle.

Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj led the bowling lineup with 2 wickets each on the night. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Sen also picked one scalp each as Rajasthan continued their brilliant display with the ball.

It was impact substitute Ashutosh Sharma who top-scored on the night as he and Liam Livingstone (21) took the home side to 147/8 in their 20 overs on the night.
