In the previous season, Rajasthan Royals missed out on the playoffs, finishing fifth on the points table with seven wins. On the other hand, despite a strong start with four wins in five matches, RR struggled in the latter part of the season, losing six out of nine games.
Led by Sanju Samson, RR aims to secure a top-four finish this season. The addition of players like Rovman Powell, Nandre Burger, and Tom Kohler Cadmore would help them achieve that objective.
Lucknow Super Giants, under KL Rahul’s leadership, reached the playoffs for the second consecutive season in 2023 but were eliminated after losing to MI in the Eliminator. While consistent, LSG hasn’t clinched the trophy yet.
LSG have got new additions like Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Mavi, Ashton Turner, and David Willey in the side. KL Rahul and co. aim to advance further in the playoffs and contend for the title this time round.
Pitch Report
In the previous season, three out of five matches played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium were won by teams batting first. The average innings score was 171 and the highest successful chase was 217 by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Considering this, winning the toss and batting first seems favorable for the captains, given the venue’s record.
