Put to bat first, LSG didn’t get off to a good start as opener Quinton de Kock got dismissed at just 8 runs courtesy of a brilliant Trent Boult delivery in the first over itself.
Skipper KL Rahul held his end and top-scored for the hosts on the night with a 48-ball 76.
Deepak Hooda’s gritty fifty also contributed to the total as Lucknow Super Giants posted an above-par 196/5 in their 20 overs on the night.
Samson-Jurel Take RR Home
In reply, RR batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler started off quite strategically and maintained a decent strike rate in the powerplay.
With the score at 60/2 right after the powerplay, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag continued for the visitors.
Riyan Parag also departed soon after at 14 runs courtesy of an Amit Mishra delivery. Samson and Jurel’s brilliant XXX-run partnership took Rajasthan to a comfortable position into the chase.
With 37 required off 24 balls, the duo handed a convincing victory to the league leaders who solidified their playoff spots in IPL 2024.
