IPL 2024 – Here Is The Reason
The suspense regarding the venue stems from the fact that the proposed schedule for IPL 2024 coincides with the Lok Sabha elections in the country. This overlap poses a potential challenge to organizing the IPL during that time, despite the tournament being held after elections in 2019.

What Officials Have To Say
Earlier statements by IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal indicated a clear intent to hold the IPL within India. However, recent uncertainties have reignited discussions around this matter.
The IPL Governing Council has clarified that the final decision regarding the venue and scheduling of IPL 2024 rests with the Election Commission. Once the Election Commission announces the election dates and schedules, the IPL Governing Council will then decide whether the tournament will be held entirely in India, partially in India and partially abroad, or entirely outside India.

Previously, IPL had to be relocated due to Lok Sabha elections. In 2009, the tournament was moved to South Africa for the first time during the elections. Subsequently, in 2014, the initial phase of IPL was conducted in the UAE.
In 2019, there were no changes, and the tournament took place entirely in India. The uncertainty over the venue for IPL 2024 remains, with the auction for the tournament set to be held outside India for the first time on December 19, specifically in Dubai.
