With the new Indian Premier League season just days away, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has been talked about for various reasons in the recent weeks. While some talk about the change in leadership at Mumbai, some people talk about BCCI’s leniency for the all-rounder in terms of the contracts offered to him despite of no participation in domestic cricket.

However, a recent video that surfaced on the internet saw Hardik being taped up during Mumbai’s training session which left the fans in tension. What could have just been a regular medical tape athletes use for training, people are brainstorming that this well could be a possible injury scare too considering Pandya has been struggling with his ankle lately.
Having won the title with Gujarat Titans once as captain, Pandya was trusted with the huge responsibility of leading 5-time winners Mumbai Indians which its long time skipper Rohit Sharma stripped off the captaincy as well.
Hardik sustained an injury during India’s fourth league stage match of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19. Since then, the 30-year-old all-rounder has been sidelined and is set to make his comeback for the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming 2024 IPL season.
Hardik’s injury during the ODI World Cup 2023 turned out to be advantageous for Shami. With Hardik sidelined, Shami seized the opportunity and went on to claim 24 wickets in the subsequent seven matches, emerging as the top wicket-taker of the tournament.
