KKR Bowlers Shine At Eden Gardens
Put to bat first, KL Rahul’s side looked determined to capitalize on the powerplay as long as the ball was new. While the skipper scored a steady 39, his opening partner Quinton de Kock (10) departed early on having hit some good shots in the beginning.
KKR’s big buy Mitchell Starc opened up his account for the match as well and Deepak Hooda got caught courtesy of a superb catch by Ramandeep Singh within the powerplay. Starc finished his spell with 3 wickets to his name.
Ayush Badoni tried to help take LSG to a strong total like he did in the previous fixture but had to be content with a 27-ball 29 in the end as wickets at quick intervals saw Lucknow Super Giants struggle at 111/5 within 15 overs.
KKR bowlers piled on the pressure throughout the innings as both spinners and pacers were successful for the team placed 2nd on the table at the moment.
In came LSG’s saviour Nicholas Pooran who has helped his side get a good total on many occasions in the past. Nicholas’ brilliant 45 took the visitors to what can be said as an above-average total of 161/7 in their 20 overs.
