Deciding to bat first, Lucknow batters didn’t get off to a great start with opener Quinton de Kock getting dismissed cheaply at 6 runs courtesy of an Umesh Yadav delivery.
Skipper KL Rahul held his end with a steady 33 but was sent back to the pavilion in the 13th over. Marcus Stoinis top-scored for the Super Giants with 58 runs.

Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni also contributed with their 32* and 20-run cameos respectively as the hosts only managed to conjure 163/5 in their 20 overs.
Umesh Yadav and Darshan Nalkande managed to pick 2 scalps each as Gujarat looked to get back to winning ways in the Indian Premier League
Both franchises are the two latest additions to the domestic league and have been providing their fans with some good and exciting performances over the years as well.
With Gujarat missing their former skipper Hardik Pandya this season, their star pacer Mohd Shami has also been ruled out from the season because of undergoing knee surgery.
