Chennai Super Kings are gearing up to kick off their IPL campaign in pursuit of becoming the most successful team in IPL history. They will face Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are fueled by the motivation to end their title drought.
However, the task is not simple, and Faf Du Plessis’s team is well aware of it. Out of the 31 IPL matches between the two sides, CSK has emerged victorious in 20 encounters, while RCB has won only 10. In their last encounter during IPL 2023, CSK defeated RCB by eight wickets at Chepauk. RCB boasts a strong batting lineup as always, but their bowling department isn’t up to the mark. The absence of a proficient spinner, remains a concern for them. Although they have a trump card in Cameron Green, the key players for RCB will be Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf Du Plessis.
On the other hand, CSK, known for their well-rounded squad, appear formidable yet again. While much attention is on MS Dhoni potentially playing his final season, the addition of the highly talented Rachin Ravindra adds depth to the CSK lineup.
CSK vs RCB Head-to-Head
With both teams consisting of world class players in the team, the result of the encounter can’t easily be deduced. However, Chennai’s impeccable record at Chepauk speaks otherwise. CSK have a 7-1 record in their favour when facing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their stadium. In fact, RCB have never won a game at Chepauk since 2008.
