Mustafizur Rahman, the pace bowler for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), won’t be able to play after May 1. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has set this deadline due to the national team’s commitment to a five-match T20I series at home starting on May 3. There won’t be any chance for Mustafizur to make a comeback as Bangladesh is also slated to play three T20Is against the USA leading up to the T20 World Cup.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) initially requested Mustafizur Rahman to return by April 30, but they extended the deadline by a day. This adjustment came about because Chennai Super Kings had a match against Punjab Kings on May 1. Responding to requests from the BCCI and Chennai team management, the availability of the bowler was extended by a day. Consequently, Mustafizur will now be available for consecutive matches against Lucknow Super Giants on April 19 and 23, Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 28, and Punjab Kings on May 1.

Shahriar Nafees, BCB’s deputy manager of cricket operations, stated, “We had granted Mustafizur leave to participate in the IPL until April 30. However, with Chennai scheduled to play on May 1, we have decided to extend his leave by a day following requests from both Chennai and the BCCI.”
Mustafizur Rahman is enjoying a stellar season in the IPL, having already claimed 10 wickets in five matches with an impressive average of 18.3. The conditions at the Chepauk (MA Chidambaram Stadium) have been particularly favorable for his style of bowling. This marks his best IPL performance since 2021 when he played for the Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are currently basking in a five-day break following their convincing victory over the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. They successfully defended a total of 206 runs with some astute bowling, placing them in third position with four wins from six matches thus far.
