RR Manage To Post 141/5 vs CSK
Deciding to bat first, Rajasthan openers got off to a decent start with both openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal finishing the powerplay with 43 runs don’t he board. However, Jaiswal saw his wicket being taken right after the powerplay as Simarjeet Singh’s delivery was edged by the Indian batter, taking the ball high into the air which was eventually caught by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Jos Buttler followed his opening partner in the 9th over as Simarjeet Singh got his 2nd wicket of the day. 2 wickets in quick intervals slowed down RR who wanted to put up a strong total on the board. Skipper Sanju Samson also lost his wicket courtesy of none other than Simarjeet Singh as the pacer was having a spell to remember for the 5-time champions. He finished with impressive figures of 3/26 in his 4 overs.
It was Riyan Parag who top-scored on the night for the Royals as his 35-ball 47* steered Rajasthan to 141/5 on the day.
Chennai would be pleased with the bowling performance on the night as a win in their final home game would bring the Yellow Army a great deal of happiness and would help the hosts play at the Chepauk again this year when they qualify for the playoffs.
