However, facing the defending champions on their ground and taking the 2 points away is not as simple as it seems.
CSK Spinners Decimate KKR
Put to bat first, KKR opener Phil Salt got out on a golden duck on the very first delivery of the game. His in-form batting partner Sunil Narine (27) also couldn’t make a mark for the visitors as CSK spinners piled the pressure on the batters and took wickets in quick succession.

18-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi was sent back to the pavilion for just 24 runs as Ravindra Jadeja ended his spell with outstanding figures of 3/18 in front of a packed Chepauk crowd. Mahesh Theekshana also ended with a brilliant spell of 1/28. Although spin dominated on the night, pacers Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rehman got themselves 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
It was skipper Shreyas Iyer (34) who top-scored on the night to steer KKR to a total of 137/9 in their 20 overs. The 2-time champions will be hoping to replicate CSK’s bowling on the night to maintain their unbeaten run in the league.
