Lucknow Super Giants’ Shivam Mavi has been sidelined from IPL 2024 due to an injury.
In a social media video shared by the franchise, Mavi expressed his disappointment, stating, “I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had hoped to contribute to my team after recovering from my injury and performing well. Unfortunately, I have to withdraw from the tournament due to another injury.”
You’ll come back stronger, Shivam. And we’re with you all the way. 💙 pic.twitter.com/zYSs3URV1p

Purchased by LSG for INR 6.4 crores in this year’s auction, Mavi’s last competitive appearance dates back to August 2023.
“A cricketer has to be mentally strong for this. If you have an injury, you need to see what you have to do to make a comeback, what things you need to take care of.”
Currently positioned fourth on the points table with two victories in three matches, LSG did not field Mavi in any of those games.
“We got a very good team,” Mavi said. “I will keep cheering for the team and hopefully, we will win.”
LSG have yet to announce a replacement. They have a pool of other seam-bowling options including Matt Henry, Shamar Joseph, Mohsin Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mayank Yadav, Yash Thakur, Arshad Khan, and Yudhvir Singh.
