The BCCI medical team has given the green light for Rishabh Pant to participate in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. Pant has been declared fit to both bat and keep wickets for the Delhi Capitals, starting March 22.
This development serves as a significant boost for India, particularly with Pant now being considered as a strong contender for inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad. The squad is scheduled to head to the Caribbean for the upcoming ICC tournament, and Pant’s fitness adds depth and options to India’s lineup.
With the BCCI clearing Pant’s return, the wicketkeeper-batsman is poised to assume the captaincy of the Delhi Capitals. In the absence of Pant during IPL 2023, David Warner led the team, but the franchise faced difficulties, ultimately finishing second to last in the 10-team points table.
