New Delhi: The long wait of Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) fans finally ended when Mahendra Singh Dhoni walked out to bat during a practice match in front of thousands of supporters at the famous MA Chidambaram Stadium recently.
CSK to face GT in tournament opener
CSK’s captain Dhoni stepped on the Chidambaram Stadium during the practice session ahead of the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans on March 31 (Friday) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Dhoni receives grand welcome
The former Indian captain made his presence felt at the CSK’s home ground. Dhoni was welcomed with the thundering ‘Dhoni-Dhoni’ chants from the fans as he walked out on the ground with the bat.
Dhoni’s grand entry on the ground brought a huge round of applause. The video of Dhoni’s arrival went viral in no time.

CSK’s last year performance
Notably, Dhoni will be leading CSK in the upcoming season of the IPL. The Yellow army put up a poor show in the last season as they finished ninth. They are aiming to make amends this time by putting up a superlative show in the 16th edition of the league.
