New Delhi: Shardul Thakur on Thursday broke the internet with his blistering fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This was also Shardul’s maiden half-century in Indian Premier League (IPL).

Joint-fastest fifty

Shardul Thakur’s (68 runs off 29 balls) is the joint fastest fifty in the IPL 2023. Shardul Thakur went into top gear and equalled Buttler’s record for the fastest fifty of the season so far. Buttler, the Rajasthan Royals opener and winner of the Orange Cap in 2022, scored a rapid half-century against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.

Knight Riders was in deep trouble when Thakur came to bat in, Gurbaz and Russel were departed in consecutive deliveries by David Willey. It seemed that KKR will collapse soon, but Shardul have some other plans today, to fight back till the end. With blistering fifty he became the joint fastest fifty scorer in the 16th edition of IPL.
