New Delhi: What a fiery knock from Vijay Shankar as he scored unbeaten half-century (63 runs off 24 balls) to powered Gujarat Titans to post the target of 205 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 9.

Vijay Shankar’s innings

Vijay Shankar fired in the 19th over of the first innings as he hammered 25 runs off the over. Lockie Ferguson pitched this one up, on off, Vijay Shankar cleared his front leg and smoked it over the long off fence for a maximum. Shankar returned unbeaten on 63 off 24 balls, an innings which featured four boundaries and five maximums.

GT batting vs KKR

After decided to bat first, Gujarat Titans’ opener Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha got the host off to a decent start. The pair stitched 33 runs for the first wicket, before Sunil Narine packed Saha for a run-a-ball 17. Sai Sudharsan then added 77 runs for the second wicket with Gill before Narine provided KKR with second breakthrough. He removed Gill for 39(31).

Narine gets 3 wickets

For KKR, Sunil Narine was the most successful bowler as he returned to the figure of 3/33 runs in four overs quota. Apart from Narine, KKR’s new mystery spinner Suyash Sharma scalped one wicket as removed Abhinav Manohar.
