IPL 2023: After the J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) admitted two of its players to Sunrisers Hyderabad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, 13 players from the UT will be net bowlers for various franchises.
The latest additions to the SRH’s IPL squad are Mohammad Tahir and Auqib Nabi from Kashmir. This brings the total number of JKCA players participating in IPL 2023 to 13.
The JKCA has thanked the franchise for its faith in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association players and has given permission to both players to join the SRH team.
Besides Mohammad Tahir and Auqib, Srinagar-born striker Samiullah Dar has joined Kolkata Knight Riders. He has yet to represent J&K but was one of the best wicket-takers in the event conducted by the JKCA last season.

Mujtaba Yousuf, a left-arm pacer from Anantnag district, has joined Chennai Super Kings. He has been a regular participant in the player auctions conducted by IPL but has not been selected.
Basit Bashir, fast bowler, has signed with Mumbai Indians while Wasim Bashir has signed with Lucknow Super Giants. Both have represented J&K at the junior level.

Brigadier General (retd) Anil Gupta, Member of the Board of Directors of JKCA, said, “This only proves that there is no dearth of talent in JK, only lack of opportunities for our players. The talent of JKCA players is now being recognised. The website IPL will enable these players to further improve their cricketing skills and enhance the quality of our teams.”
