Axar finally gets Mayers
Mayers eventually fell to a quite extraordinary delivery from Axar Patel on 73 off 38 balls. However, LSG kept the pace of the innings up with young Ayush Badoni smashing 18 off seven balls.

DC brought on Krishnappa Gowtham to face the last ball as an impact player for Badoni as soon as the latter got out and the former ended up smashing the only ball he faced for a six.

With all this efforts, LSG ended with 193/6 on scoreboard against the Capitals. Earlier in the match Delhi Capitals’ skipper David Warner won the toss and invited the host to bat first.
Kyle Mayers speaks
“It was a tricky surface at the start. It kept a bit low and the bounce was variable. But it’s still a good wicket. Our bowlers need to use the wicket, it’s gripping a bit and I think we’ll be in good stead,” Mayers said in presentation.
I think that’s the drier end of the pitch. There’s an area on that pitch that’s very dry and the other end is full of grass so I think the spinners need to execute from that end in particular. It’s a new surface. I tried to get information from the guys. It’s tricky trying to get accustomed as fast as possible,” he added.
[On being dropped on 14] It’s always good to get some luck. Sometimes you play a good shot and a guy takes a blinder. So I’m happy to get an opportunity. I just wanted to do well on my first game and help my team and I did that,” he signed off.
