New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) right-arm pacer Josh Hazlewood is set to miss the few initial matches of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 16th edition beginning in Ahmedabad on Friday. Josh is expected to join the franchise later in the tournament.
Josh Hazlewood to miss initial games for RCB
Hazlewood has encountered a frustrating run of injuries, the latest of which is an Achilles problem that saw him sidelined from all four Border-Gavaskar Tests matches in India.
Maxwell uncertain for opening match against MI
When it comes to Maxwell, the 34-year-old broke his leg right after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, in a freak accident at a friend’s birthday party last November, which ruled him out of the Big Bash League as well. He recently made his return in the ODI series against India but it is believed that the Australia international is yet to return to full match fitness and thus, is unlikely to take part in the match against Mumbai Indians.
Hasaranga to join RCB from April 8
Sri Lanka’s spin wizard Wanindu Hasaranga is set to miss the first few matches for RCB due to his international commitments. Notably, Sri Lanka are currently playing an ODI series against New Zealand and later will play a three-match T20I series against the hosts. Thus, Hasaranga will join the RCB squad after the conclusion of the T20I series on April 8.
