New Delhi: Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar on high praised Chennai Super Kings’s (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) ahead of the clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, April 17.
Gavaskar praises Dhoni for CSK success
The 73-year-old former batter also termed Dhoni as the best captain and there will be no other captains like him in the future. Gavaskar also said that CSK know how to handle tough situations and he credited MS Dhoni for this.

Dhoni completes 200 IPL matches as captain of CSK
The 41-year-old CSK captain Dhoni, who completed his 200 matches as skipper of the four-time champions side against Rajasthan Royals. Eventually, CSK lost the match by 3-wickets. However, Dhoni impressed his fans and audience with his short cameo.
“Chennai Super Kings know how to get out of tough situations. This has been possible only under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. Captaining 200 matches is very difficult. Captaining so many matches is a burden and it could have affected his performance as well. But Mahi is different. He is a different captain. There hasn’t been a captain like him and there will never be one like him in the future,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

Gavaskar, who played 125 Tests and 108 ODIs for India between 1971 and 1987 further added that ‘Mahi’ is built differently and there would be no one like him.

“But Mahi is different. He is a different captain. There hasn’t been a captain like him and there will never be one like him in the future,” Gavaskar said in a release from IPL broadcasters.

Sunil Gavaskar lauded another Indian superstar, Virat Kohli, for his terrific form and the start he gave to the RCB in the power play.

“Virat Kohli is giving RCB flying starts at the start of the innings. He deserves a lot of credit for the starts RCB is getting and the runs the team is managing to post on the board because of his starts. These are good signs for RCB,” Gavaskar added.
