New Delhi: For breaching the Indian premier League’s (IPL) code of conduct Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) former captain Virat Kohli has been fined 10% of match fee on Monday, April 17 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Virat breaches Level 1 code of conduct
Virat Kohli breached the IPL’s code of conduct during the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in which the host lost the match by 8-runs. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the statement in which it stated that Virat Kohli breached the the rules under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
“Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru,” said the IPL statement.

Virat’s celebration on Dube’s dismissal
The statement did not go in the details but it is most probably due the aggressive celebration on the dismissal of CSK’s middle-order batter Shivam Dube.

Dube struck a 27-ball 52 in CSK’s mammoth 226/6 as Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team won by eight runs.

CSK posted 226/6 on board against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) courtesy of Devon Conway (83) and Shivam Dube (52) as CSK posted their highest ever total at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
