New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) pacer Avesh Khan and Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis bagged 3 and 2 wickets each as KL Rahul-led side got edge over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Wednesday, April 19.

Buttler-Jaiswal’s 87-runs stand

Chasing a moderate target of 155, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal maintained a cautious approach but put Rajasthan in a strong position with a 87-run stand for the opening wicket.

Stoinis gives first breakthrough

Marcus Stoinis then removed Yashasvi for 44(35), after that Rajasthan’s batting endured a collapse, which swung the momentum into Lucknow’s favour. Such was the impact that the equation dropped to 19 in the final over. Avesh Khan then bowled a brilliant final over as he struck twice and conceded 8 runs to restrict Rajasthan at 144/6 in 20 overs.

First innings highlight

Earlier, Kyle Mayers scored another half-century while KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran played crucial knocks to take LSG to 154/7 on a tricky pitch.
