Afghanistan’s cricketing sensation, Rashid Khan, is in the headlines once again, and this time the reason has been very personal. A recent photo of him with a woman went viral online, leading to curiosity among his fans. Now, Rashid has confirmed that he is officially married.
Local reports quoted that the marriage, in accordance with traditional Pashtun customs, took place on 3 October 2025 in Kabul. It was a grand family wedding that was held at the Imperial Continental Hotel, where Rashid’s three brothers, Amir Khalil, Zakiullah, and Raza Khan also married on the same day.
In an emotional post, Rashid spoke about his marriage:
“On 2nd August 2025, I started a new and significant chapter of my life. I solemnized my Nikkah, thereby getting married to a woman who has always been a symbol of love, peace, and partnership to me.”
He further explained that lately, he and his wife went to a charity function, which unnecessarily resulted in rumors and online gossip. Rashid clarified the situation:
“It is quite sad to see speculation around such a simple matter. Truthfully, she is my wife, and we stand together, and there is nothing to hide. A big thank you to all who showed kindness, support, and understanding.”
Out of respect for his family and cultural traditions, Rashid has chosen not to share his wife’s name and would prefer not to show her face publicly.
