The 2023 ODI World Cup was hosted by India. Team India did reach the final of the World Cup but the dream of winning the title was shattered. Australia won the World Cup title by defeating India in the final. At the same time, now the International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the economic benefits to India during the ODI World Cup 2023.

India Got A Profit Of About Rs 11,637 Crore

The ODI World Cup was held in India from October to November in the year 2023. Regarding which, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has now revealed the benefits India got during the tournament and said that the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has demonstrated the significant economic power of cricket, giving India an economic benefit of US $ 1.39 billion (about Rs 11,637 crore).

Big Boost From Tourism!

While the World Cup was being played in India, fans came from far and wide to support their respective teams. During this time, people spent a lot on things like hotels, travel, transport and food. In every city where the World Cup matches were being played, there was a huge crowd of spectators. India has earned a profit of 861.4 million US dollars from tourism. This time 1.25 million fans attended this tournament. 55 percent of foreign spectators visited India to watch the tournament, out of which 19 percent spectators had come to India for the first time.

Australia Shattered The Hearts Of Millions Of Indians

The performance of the Indian team in the ODI World Cup 2023 was very good. Due to which Team India was considered a strong contender to win the title, but Australia broke the hearts of millions of Indian fans in the final. India’s only defeat in the tournament came in the final. Due to which Rohit Sharma’s dream of winning the first ODI World Cup title under his captaincy was also shattered.
