India is going to miss one express pacer in the forthcoming white-ball series against England and that is going to be Mayank Yadav. Mayank, who got his T20I debut against Bangladesh last year, has been considered one of the country’s best pace bowling talents. He can regularly bowl above 150 Kmph, and Lucknow Super Giants found him an asset for them in IPL. But due to a long-standing back injury, Mayank will probably miss the T20I series starting January 22.
His lack of fitness made him sit out Delhi’s second-leg Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra, and yet again it signifies that he does not seem like finding a place for the England series. A source of BCCI told TOI, “He is suffering with a back condition and unlikely to be available in the England series. He had not even got a mention for the problems of Delhi Ranji first leg against Saurashtra from 23rd Jan”.
Mayank has been touted as a future star for India’s pace attack across formats. Injuries, however, have curtailed his progress, and he still hasn’t featured in ODIs or Tests after impressing in the T20I series against Bangladesh.

India’s best seamer, Jasprit Bumrah, is set to miss the entire white-ball series against England due to a back injury. There is no indication of his inclusion in the Champions Trophy either. Jasprit Bumrah had picked up back spasms during the second Test against Australia in Sydney which made him skip part of that game.
With Bumrah and Mayank out of the equation, the two pacers most likely to play in the limited-overs series against England and possibly in the Champions Trophy are Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. Other pacer selections are still pending.
