Birmingham: Indian women lose to Australia by 3 wickets in the first game of Commonwealth Games 2022.
After choosing to bat first, Harmanpreet played a 52-run knock to support her side whereas opener Shafali Verma contributed with 48 runs. However, the Indian women failed to defend their total as Australian women turned the tables in last 3 overs.
Ashleigh Gardner became the star player as she smashed 52 runs in 35 balls, winning the game for his side.

Debutant Meghna Singh clinched one wicket for her side as she dismissed Grace Harris on the last ball of 13th over.
Renuka Singh registered four wickets in her account while Deepti Sharma got two wickets against Australia.
