Former cricket captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has embarked on a new venture by joining the Kolkata Royal Tigers racing team for their upcoming third season in the Indian Racing Festival. This move is seen as a significant development in Indian motorsport, with aims to bolster the sport’s footprint across the country.
Organized by Racing Promotion Private Limited, the Indian Racing Festival is strategically crafted to attract a burgeoning fan base of motorsport enthusiasts nationwide. Highlighting this year’s festival are two prestigious championships: the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC).

Scheduled from August to November, the festival will feature participation from eight teams representing major cities such as Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Kochi, and Ahmedabad. Kolkata’s debut in the competition is anticipated to inject high-speed action and intense competition into the season.

This initiative marks a pivotal moment for motorsport in Eastern India, signaling a new era under leadership of Sourav Ganguly. Beyond his involvement in motorsport, Ganguly also holds ownership of the Indian Super League team ATK Mohun Bagan, further cementing his influence in Indian sports management.
