The India national cricket team suffered a humiliating ten-wicket loss at the hands of Australia in the second Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series played at the Adelaide Oval. Team India was outplayed in all the departments by Australia which became the major reason behind its debacle in Adelaide despite winning the first Test match in Perth. Now, when the series is levelled at 1-1, the Indian team will look forward to comeback in the third Test set to be played in Brisbane from December 14. Apart from Australian winning in Adelaide, there were several animated scenes witnessed off and on the field. From the heated conversation between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj, to fans boeeing the right-handed Indian pacer, the whole match was full of entertainment.

An Indian fan was evicted from the Adelaide Oval as he showed sandpaper throughout the IND vs AUS 2nd Test. The video for the same went viral on the social media. The context for showing sandpaper hails from the 2018 sandpaper gate scandal when three Australian players including, David Warner, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were penalised and banned for being involved in the incident. During the South Africa vs Australia Test being played at the Sahara Park Newlands in Cape Town, Australian cricketer Bancroft was caught tampering the ball with a sandpaper. After the match, Smith and Warner took the responsibility of the incident and were banned from playing international cricket for an year. Bancroft received a ban of nine months.

Getting back to the ongoing IND vs AUS 2024-25 Test series, the Indian team’s road to the final of the WTC has come in danger. Rohit Sharma and Co now at least needs to win the five-match series by a margin of 4-1 or 3-1 for successfully qualifying for WTC final, which has been closed to impossible as defeating Australia in Australia hasn’t been easy.
