New Delhi: Indian women team won the ODI series against England on Sunday after the heroic performance by the entire team. Many anecdotes from the series became the matter of headlines that included Jhulan Goswami’s retirement and Deepti Sharma’s Mankad. There is another incident that has grabbed the attention of the fans.

Taniya Bhatia robbed in London

Taniya Bhatia has claimed that she has been robbed in London Hotel as her bags full of cash and cards was stolen. Sharing the entire incident on Twitter, Bhatia wrote, “Shocked and disappointed at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewellery during my recent stay as a part of Indian Women’s Cricket team.@MarriottBonvoy. So unsafe.”

Hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at @ECB_cricket’s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognisance as well,” she added.

Hotel takes immediate action

The hotel where Taniya has made the stay did not take much to respond to the concern of the cricketer and asked her the details. Hi Taniyaa, we are sorry to hear this. Please DM us your name and the email address you made the reservation with and the exact dates of your stay, so we can look into this further.”

There has not been further information on the matter. Team India is returning with a trophy in their hands and will be preparing for the upcoming tournament of Women’s Asia Cup.
