Former Indian cricketing legend Kris Srikkanth has targeted the Indian cricket team, targeting the team's performance in all the three formats. The former cricketer voiced his opinions on the current crop of players and on the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. According to him, the team is kind of 'overrated' when the shortest format of the game is considered. “In T20s, India is overrated. In ODIs, we’re excellent. Knockout matches depend on luck and sometimes, we underperform. Regardless of the location, India, Australia, or South Africa, we’ve always been a strong ODI side,” Kris said on his Youtube channel. “In Test cricket, we’re overrated. During Virat Kohli’s captaincy for 2-3 years, we were outstanding, dominating in England, putting up a fight in South Africa, and winning in Australia. However, it was a limited period of success, and we need to ensure a sustained performance,” he added. The Indian team is still to be announced for the T20 World Cup 2024 with many youngsters like Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma putting their best foot forward to get a spot in the quadrennial tournament. Srikkanth also rated the Test team as 'overrated', which drew more attention from the fans as the team is currently playing a Test match against South Africa. Fans seemed to agree with the former cricketer on the issue with the team missing out on the World Test Championship Trophy last year as well.
