The India women’s national hockey team created history during the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 final against China and won their third consecutive title of the tournament. The Indian women’s hockey team forward Deepika Sehrawat ended up scoring a goal through a penalty corner during the 32nd minute of the match which proved to be decisive in the result. The Indian women’s team later showcased a brilliant defence and never really allowed the Chinese team to score a goal or level the scores.

The India women’s national hockey team equalled South Korea’s record of winning most Asian Champions Trophy and winning consecutive titles. The Indian women’s hockey team previously held the Asian Champions Trophy in 2016 and 2023. Deepika Sehrawat ended up scoring her 11th goal of the tournament during the strike in the 32nd minute of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy finals.
The Indian women’s hockey team also ended up the tournament without losing a match which includes a their 3-0 win over China in the group stage matches. The Indian team defeated Japan by 2-0 in the semifinals and now created history by winning the final match at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium.
