India yet again faced their knockout nemesis New Zealand in the first-ever WTC final in 2021. New Zealand dominated India in all aspects of the game and won the inaugural WTC final.

India again faced New Zealand in an epic ODI World Cup clash in 2023 ODI World Cup in Wankhede Stadium. With Virat Kohli taking charge with the bat, New Zealand bowlers were shattered and in the end, Mohammed Shami decimated Kiwi batting line-up and won the semi-final.
