Top Order
Captain Rohit Sharma is sure to play in the top order of Team India. If the Hitman does not score runs in the first match, he will want to make a comeback in the second match. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played as the second opener, may be shown the way out. In his place, the responsibility of opening the batting will once again be given to Shubman Gill, who batted at number 3 and scored 87 runs in the last match. Virat Kohli will make a comeback in the playing 11 in place of Jaiswal, who did not play in the last match due to injury. Kohli will be seen batting at number 3.
Middle Order
Shreyas Iyer’s place at number 4 is confirmed, who proved himself in the Nagpur ODI match. Now Iyer will try to maintain his same form in Cuttack as well. KL Rahul’s playing as wicketkeeper batsman at number 5 has been confirmed. Rahul was also not able to show his batting prowess in the first match, so now he would like to prove himself in the Cuttack ODI match.
All-Rounder
Axar Patel, who scored a half-century in the Nagpur ODI match, is certain to be sent to bat at number 6. In the last match, the experiment of sending Axar to bat higher was successful. It is almost certain that fast bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya will get a chance at number 7. Pandya would like to show his magic with both bat and ball before the Champions Trophy. Ravindra Jadeja will be seen at number 8. He had performed brilliantly in the Nagpur ODI.
Bowlers
Kuldeep Yadav will be the only spinner to play. Kuldeep Yadav returned to the field after a long time in the last match. Now Kuldeep Yadav will want to do wonders with the ball in Cuttack so that he can return to his form before the Champions Trophy. Mohammad Shami will be seen playing at number 10 and Harshit Rana at number 11. Both the players have secured their place by performing well in the last match. Shami and Rana will also have a big responsibility to take wickets in the powerplay.
