Young Indian sensation Abhishek Sharma etched his name in cricket history with a breathtaking 135 off 54 balls against England in the fifth T20I at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, powering India to an imposing total of 248. The left-hander’s explosive innings, which began with a blistering powerplay score of 58, showcased his remarkable talent and growing stature in international cricket.

Building on his impressive 73 at Eden Gardens in the series opener, Sharma dominated the English bowling attack with a mix of classical stroke play and modern T20 innovation. His innings included several massive sixes and perfectly timed boundaries, particularly punishing during the powerplay overs where India raced to 95/1, their highest T20I powerplay total.
The Wankhede crowd was treated to a masterclass as Sharma took on both pace and spin with equal confidence. His innings finally came to an end when he attempted an inside-out shot off Adil Rashid, with Jofra Archer taking the catch at deep cover. The standing ovation he received from teammates and spectators alike reflected the quality of his performance.
