Fans usually don’t get to see a break from jam-packed cricket calendar. While the India tour of Sri Lanka ended on August 7, the next international series for India begins on September 19 with the first Test of the two-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
BCCI Likely To Announce Squad Next Week
The men in blue do not play cricket for a near month-long period, and fans are excitedly waiting to see the action get underway once again. There have been reports doing the rounds that the Board of Control for Cricket in India may announce the squad for the forthcoming home series against Bangladesh.

According to a SportsTak report, BCCI might reveal the India squad for the Bangladesh series as early as next week. The report further highlights that the performances in the opening round of the ongoing Duleep Trophy are likely to play an instrumental role in formulating the selection. This series against Bangladesh will mark the return of Virat Kohli to Test cricket for the first time since January, with Rohit Sharma returning as captain. The series will likely see Rishabh Pant’s return to the red-ball format after recovering from injuries related to the car accident earlier this year.
Player Who Can Be Picked For India Vs Bangladesh Series
Massive changes are unlikely for the India squad. The likes of Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel could be in the Test scheme, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill are all but set to get a chance in not only the Tests but also the T20I squad.
Similarly, Ravindra Jadeja will be in action, probably for the first time since the T20 World Cup 2024. Likewise, Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the Sri Lanka tour and that may well mean that he gets into action.

It would be interesting to see whether Kuldeep Yadav gets a chance in the Tests, but on turning tracks in India, he can be added as an option. But Axar Patel’s participation and the chances of getting picked are still ambiguous. Mohammed Siraj and Mukesh Kumar will be in the reckoning for Tests with the Hyderabad pacer also in consideration for T20Is.
