As the Pakistani team stepped onto the stage to accept accolades for their performance, Indian spectators booed the players and chanted “Modi, Modi” during the prize distribution. The crowd’s reaction reflected the passionate spirit of Indian fans in support of their team. Additionally, Team India refrained from accepting the trophy at the ceremony, demonstrating integrity and a deep sense of commitment to the nation.
As per media reports, the accolades for the Indian team were to be presented by Mohsin Naqvi, a media mogul, Federal Minister of Narcotics Control since March 2024, and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board since February 2024.
Naqvi had previously made threatening statements toward India during the ongoing tensions between the two nations amid Operation Tilak. In response, India refrained from accepting accolades from someone whose name is associated with warmongering rhetoric.
This decision reflects India’s continued commitment to integrity and its unwavering devotion to peace and national dignity. Meanwhile The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Rs 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff following Asia Cup 2025 win against Pakistan on Sunday. In a historic showdown at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India defeated Pakistan to win the Asia Cup 2025, marking a memorable chapter in one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries.
Expressing happiness on Team India’s victory, BCCI wrote, “India defeats Pakistan to lift the #AsiaCup2025 trophy | BCCI tweets, “3 blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.”
