Key contributions from Harmanpreet Singh and Vivek Sagar Prasad helped create multiple scoring opportunities, while India’s relentless pressure kept China pinned in their own half. The result reflects a confident performance from the Indian team as they aim to lift the Asia Cup title, having last won the Hockey World Cup in 1975.

Korea pressed, urgently searching for another goal during the final moments of the game play. They pushed the ball into India’s circle, but the play was called back for an India ball instead rousing the spectators. The crowd erupted in cheers as the clock wound down.

India entered the final riding high after a dominant 7-0 win over China in the Super 4s, with goals from multiple players including two from Abhishek, and one each from Shilanand Lakra, Dilpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, and Sukhjeet Singh.
India asserted their dominance right from the start, as Shilanand Lakra opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing off an aerial pass from Harmanpreet Singh to Jarmanpreet Singh.
