“It was a slow start for us. Bismah told me we need to get a partnership. It was a good wicket for the batters. I needed to hit to my strong areas. I told her (Bismah) you go for singles and doubles. Last three-four overs, it was low scoring. We need to work on that aspect,” Dar after being awarded the Player of the Match.

India failed to chase the target

Team India could not even play the full 20 overs and were all out after scoring 124 runs in 19.4 overs. Smriti Mandhana, Meghna and captain Harmanpreet Kaur returned disappointed. On the other hand, Nashra Sandhu took 3 wickets for Pakistan. Sadia Iqbal took 2 and Nida Dar also took 2 wickets, Tabu Hasan and Aiman Anwar also got 1-1 wickets.

“I think in the middle we were trying to give other batters a chance. That cost us today. It was a chaseable target. In the middle overs, we were not able to rotate the strike. For me it is important that whoever is new to the side, they get enough games before the WC. It was a great oppurtunity for others. We don’t take any team lightly. It is part of the game. They played good cricket and deserved to win. We need to work on areas and be strong,” said Harmanpreet Kaur, India captain after losing the game.
