Jadeja’s Spin Mastery, Siraj’s Seam Brilliance
While the entire bowling unit chipped in, two names stood out. Ravindra Jadeja grabbed 4 for 54, backing his earlier century with a stellar second-innings spell. His ability to extract bounce and drift made life difficult for the Windies’ tail. Mohammed Siraj was equally impressive, chipping in with 3 for 31, bringing his match haul to seven wickets – a testament to his red-hot form.
In fact, between them, they decimated the Windies’ lower order swiftly after India’s declaration. India had earlier bundled out the visitors for 162 in the first innings, putting them firmly in the driver’s seat.

Batting Fires, Then Declared
India’s dominance with the bat had laid the foundation. KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja all registered centuries to push India to a massive first-innings total. Jurel and Jadeja shared a crucial 206-run partnership for the fifth wicket that ensured India’s momentum heading into day three.
With the lead assured and the pitch beginning to show signs of wear, India knew it was time to pounce. The declaration left the West Indies facing almost impossible odds.
The Road Ahead
With this emphatic innings-and-140-runs win, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. The Windies, reeling from top-order collapses in both innings, will have to mount a recovery in the next Test to salvage pride. Meanwhile, India will look to carry this form forward and tighten their grip on the series.
