Team India To Bring Changes Ahead Of USA Clash
Meanwhile, the USA team, led by Monank Patel and featuring several former Indian players, left a strong impression with their surprising Super Over win against Pakistan in their first T20 World Cup appearance. They aim to challenge the formidable Indian side.
In the first two games, India’s weakest link was Shivam Dube. The Chennai Super Kings’ highly valued ‘Impact Player’ has struggled on two-paced tracks where the ball grips and arrives late. Unlike MS Dhoni, who could bench him during CSK’s bowling in the IPL, national skipper Rohit Sharma doesn’t have that luxury and must strategically place Dube in fielding positions where the ball is less likely to go.
Dube excels at hitting spinners on flat decks and his medium-paced seam bowling provides the Indian skipper with flexibility in the bowling lineup. However, in the T20 format, the team management, which selected Dube over Rinku Singh, will want him to perform well.
If Dube doesn’t improve, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is a more well-rounded batsman, is available in the squad. Additionally, wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav should be given playing time to ensure they are not underprepared for the Super Eights in the Caribbean, where the pitches are more favorable for spin.
