In what was turning out to be a day to remember for the Indian team during the 2nd Test against South Africa, the Protea pacers turned back the tide in their favour and got their side back in the game.

After losing opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on a duck courtesy of a Kagiso Rabada delivery in the 3rd over itself, skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started to put runs on the board but failed to stay for long on the pitch as both batters got sent back to the pavilion by Nandre Burger.

Virat Kohli top scored for the side with a 59-ball 46 after which all went south for the visitors.

It was as if the SA pacers knew when and where to bowl the right deliveries. After the 3rd wicket, the team was able to score just 48 runs in the innings and saw 5 of their batters get out on a duck, a scene that is pretty rare in the Test format. In fact, this is the first time in Test cricket history that a team has lost the last 6 wickets without scoring a single run.

Batters Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj and Prasidh Krishna lost their wickets in quick succession which saw the team get bundled out 153 in the end.

Virat to the rescue again

It was the innings of Virat Kohli which managed to get the visitors to 153 in the end as KL Rahul, who was expected to perform well after his heroic century in the last Test also got out at just 8 runs in the end.

Kohli has been the only consistent batter in the Test series with the 35-year-old scoring 38, 76 and now 46 runs in the three innings he has had to bat against The Proteas.
