The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team has gotten off to a solid start in the three-match series against South Africa as the hosts won the first game by eight wickets. After the South African pacers quickly removed Indian captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul put together a strong combination of 107 runs to lead India to win in Thiruvananthapuram.
The game’s outcome was already decided earlier when Chahar and Arshdeep dismantled South Africa with the new ball, bringing the team to 9/5 in just three overs. Additionally, Harshal Patel had a few victories to his credit, and India will be hopeful that he takes more victims in upcoming games.
