South Africa made three alterations to their team, introducing debutant Tristan Stubbs, listed to bat at number four instead of Keegan Petersen. Keshav Maharaj and Lungi Ngidi replaced the injured Temba Bavuma and Gerald Coetzee, respectively.
India included a recovered Ravindra Jadeja, replacing spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin, and seam bowler Mukesh Kumar took the place of Shardul Thakur. However, the star spinning duo of Ashwin and Jadeja weren’t even required by the visitors as the pacers wrapped up South Africa within one session.
