New Delhi: BCCI has announced that Deepak Chahar will not be playing the remaining two ODI against South Africa as he has suffered an injury at the back.

To replace the bowler, the selection committee has chosen Washinton Sundar. While making the announcement, BCCI wrote, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee named Washington Sundar as replacement for Deepak Chahar for the remainder of the ODI series against South Africa.”

“Mr. Chahar had a stiffness in his back after the third and final T20I against South Africa in Indore and did not feature in India’s Playing XI in the first ODI in Lucknow. He will now head back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will be monitored by the Medical Team there,” the statement added.

Team India reaches Ranchi

After facing a 9 runs defeat against South Africa, Team India has touched down the city of Ranchi to play the second ODI. As the Men in Blue reached the city of legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, fans welcomed them on airport with music, dance and tilak.

India aim to make comeback

Shikhar Dhawan and the squad looked refreshed and rejuvenated despite the defeat in Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. India would now aim to make a comeback in the series as losing another game would mean losing the series.

India’s ODI squad: Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer (vice-captain), Rajat Patidar, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Sanju Samson (wicket-keeper), Shahbaz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Mohd. Siraj, Washington Sundar.
