Indian batter Tilak Varma smashed a brilliant hundred during the IND vs SA 3rd T20I 2024 and reached the three-figure mark in just 52 balls.

Indian batter Tilak Varma smashed a brilliant century during the IND vs SA 3rd T20I 2024 being played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Varma reached the three-figure mark in just 52 balls and helped the Indian team register a first innings total of 219/6. Tilak has been among the most promising batters and has a lot of talent. The latter began his international career with some brilliant innings in the first few games. However, he didn’t get much chances due to competition in the side and there was also a slight dip in his form. Though, he has regained his lost touch with a brilliant century.

Tilak Varma Smashes Maiden International Hundred

The Indian team didn’t start off well during the IND vs SA 3rd T20I 2024 when they lost inform opener Sanju Samson for a duck on the second ball of the innings. However, Tilak Varma started to take on the Proteas bowlers from the first ball and showcased his intent. Tilak was sent up the order by the team management and there was a change in his batting order. Varma added 107 runs from 52 balls along with Abhishek Sharma for the second wicket. Abhishek was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj for 50 runs whereas the Indian team lost few quick wickets in the form of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh.

Despite the fall of wickets from one end, Tilak Varma stood at the other end and made sure that the Indian team achieve a big first innings score. Ramandeep Singh played some brilliant shots and helped the Indian team gain a much needed finishing touch. At the end, Tilak remained unbeaten on 107 runs from 56 balls which helped the Indian team reach 219/6 in the first innings.
